
2008 SPRING/FALL PROGRAMS
Because many of the Spring and Fall programs in 2008 we will open with
a Monday morning introductory session beginning right after breakfast,
join us Sunday night for a rousing game of Bingo! 2008 dates and general
program information is provided below.

MAY 12-14 AND SEPT. 29-OCT. 1
Play Bridge:
Improve your bridge game with expert instruction! Washington Bridge Club
president Jim Allen presents his popular five stratified sessions with
awards and partners guaranteed. Convention card hints provided. Private
lessons available, first come, first served!
MAY 19-21 AND SEPT. 22-24
Watercolor Painting: All Levels:
Unlock your creative potential with help from expert painter Fran Call. Artists
of every ability will find they can capture the natural beauty of Capon on canvas,
creating a special memory to take home with them. Just like in 2007, beginners,
intermediate and advanced painters will paint together in one combined all inclusive
class. Starting in 2008, there will be a $12 per session materials and supplies
fee.

26-28 AND SEPT. 8-10
Rug Hooking: Traditional Craft in a Contemporary World:
Explore the tradition of recycling garments into rugs as you learn to hook.
Create a mini rug or two (suitable for a coaster) using hand cut strips of wool
fabric. Beginners and those who are a bit rusty will enjoy the pace. Learn about
the history from award winning contemporary artist Susan Feller. For $25/person,
all materials for the 3 day/5 session program are included to make two 5" square
mats. Tools (hook and frame) are available for each session and for purchase.

JUNE 2-4 AND SEPT. 15-17
Spa & Wellness Program:
Local
presenters return to help guests learn about the connections between body, mind
and spirit. Programs will center around the spa and the healing therapies available
there.
SEPT. 1-3
Tai Chi Chuan – Balance in Motion:
Meditation, health and healing are all encompassed in this elegant traditional
martial art. Practiced daily by millions, Tai Chi is proven to improve the balance
and range of motion of practitioners. Absorb more of the wonderful Capon Springs
Chi (energy) wile learning a short and simple tai chi form suitable (and fun)
for everyone. Kevan Frye, a local tai chi player and teacher for over 20 years,
invites participants to "embrace the tiger and return to the mountain."

30 - NOV. 2
Halloween:
Celebrate Halloween weekend in 2008 with a three day weekend! Come Thursday,
October 30 for the steak dinner and haunted hayrides and stay until Sunday, November
2. Celebrate Friday night, the 31st , with “The Ghost & Mr. Chicken”.
In 2008, we are hoping for a return visit from Alma herself!
