2025 Season starts Thursday, May 1st 2025 Calendar & Rates
Most new folks still find us by word of mouth thanks to your personal sharing. Last month, we took your ideas and created an ambassador program to increase online sharing and find group leaders. Because of the early success, we have extended this trial into June. Let us know if you would like to be part of this renewed effort to introduce new people to the Capon experience.
Meanwhile, we will remain active in digital and social media throughout this month as more and more families are now finalizing their summer plans. For those last minute planners who have flexible dates, space can still be found between June 24 and August 11. Stay tuned for specific announcements about end of summer and fall specials.
As for my family, Betsy will be keeping herself busy once again during this summer break from homeschooling Katie through the 9th grade. This time, instead of organizing student exchanges from France, she will be working with a high school friend catering PGA events.
As for our daughter Katie, after a successful spring run of a community theater production of Grease, she has recently finished her year long tap and ballet classes with the obligatory recitals. This summer, she will be working at Capon a bit more, attending a national Lutheran Youth gathering in Houston and working toward her learner’s driving permit. Oh my!
One of our proudest moments as a family came a few weeks ago. The photo right, taken May 22nd, shows Stephen in his military dress uniform at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He had just been commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. The oath was administered by his cousin Alex, who completed the same ceremony in the same spot three years earlier.
The next day, Stephen officially graduated with a degree in Military and Strategic Studies. After a 60-day leave to celebrate his achievements thus far, he will begin his pilot training. For some of that time, he will be at Capon to enjoy his last summer break- so you might just see him!
No matter when you come, I look forward to catching up. And whether it is for a refreshing morning pool dip, a gentle hike, a run, a round of fling golf, a porch visit or watching a sunset on the hill, it means a lot to me to catch up with you and share the stories of our lives. I still think part of what we all experience as the “magic of Capon” is that back to basics, person to person connecting that is part of each and every day here.
Oh, and a dose of that healing spring water couldn’t hurt either!
All the best,
Jonathan
