Interesting things about the Dining Room and Waitresses
- During the busy summer months, every Sunday after brunch we go into the Dining Room and almost completely rearrange it. This means practically moving every table and every chair trying to fit in all the different size families arriving later that day. Things can go smoothly…. or take 5 hours!
- There are sixteen poles in the dining room. (That’s why it can take 5 hours sometimes!)
- The waitresses get here at 7:15 am and are here till 7:15 pm. They get breaks throughout the day and they have a lounge where they can take a nap!
- This year the youngest waitress is a 3-way tie between Cara, Skye, and Teauna who are all 18.
- Although most of the servers live locally, Kelsey lives in Maryland. She stays with family nearby for the summer.
- Currently we have 2 West Virginia University, 4 Fairmont State University, 4 Shepherd University, 1 Potomac State University, and 1 Marshall University students working as Capon waitresses!
- A lot of the waitresses are related. Hannah and Alli are sisters. A good many of them are cousins.
- All the tables are numbered and the average amount of guests that a waitress will have at one meal is 20.
- All the waitresses agree that breakfast is the hardest meal because of all the eggs and cereal orders.
