Meal Time Is All About Connecting

It seems for the majority of families today, the time spent connecting by sharing  a family meal has all but disappeared.  With so many busy schedules for parents and kids, with so many electronic devices getting in the way, uninterrupted face to face time over food rarely happens.

In sharp contrast, one of the central experiences of family time at Capon is the gathering three times a day for made-from-scratch family-style meals. The preparatory process itself is an extension of experience as music plays from the trees and the ceremonial ringing of the large iron bell calls everyone to gather back together after scattering for activities in between the eating.

Upon entrance to the dining room, you are personally escorted to your specific table, the location in the dining room to match your party and the sizing of tables and place settings all establish a feeling of being taken care of by a family in their own home.  The familiarity of the set menu, from main course to dessert, provides comfort and ease of being together without the hassle of ordering decisions and meal negotiations.  The bonus of having the same server from previous visits adds to the magic of the time together.

When generations gather at the same time, toddlers to grandparents are collected in one spot to share experiences, relieve memories and plan future fun.  Couples can be seated with new people and become fast friends, scheduling their next trip to Capon to be together again at the same time.  Big family events like birthdays and anniversaries are celebrated with music, clapping and a delicious cake.  Relationships are built, strengthened and renewed just at the individual bodies are nourished by the food.  And of course, the healing spring water itself permeates both food and beverage bringing healing to all.
