2025 Season starts Thursday, May 1st 2025 Calendar & Rates
From the Desk of the Operations Manager, Brian Brill:
Dear Friends,
I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful holiday season and you were able to enjoy some time over the holidays with family and friends. We were able to celebrate our very first Co-Worker Christmas Party here at Capon in December and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening full of joy and fellowship.
It’s hard to believe that I’ve completed my first year as Operations Manager at Capon. This time last year I was busy working closely with my uncle, Eddie Brill, to re-acclimate myself to Capon (I worked at Capon for 3 years during my teenage years as a recreation assistant) and get a feel for what goes on behind the scenes. Now with one full season under my belt, I’m very excited about continuing the work of maintaining the traditions that make Capon so unique and special, while also taking steps to improve the guest experience. One major advantage we have this year is a full season’s worth of feedback from our guest experience survey. This was the first time in Capon’s history that we comprehensively surveyed guests right after their stay. By the end of the season, we accumulated a total of 596 survey responses (422 of which included written feedback!). In the near future, we will be sharing more about the survey results and our plans to use that information to improve your experience as guests. I will share one small bit of news that many of you will be excited about…
…This is what 350 new pillows look like!!!
28,944,000: Number of gallons of Capon water that flowed from the spring from opening day through closing weekend
6,750: Estimated number of apple crisps served
994: Number of times the meal bell was rung (with a few half hour bells missed!)
948: Number of soaking baths enjoyed at the Spa
201: Number of nights available for guests to stay
145: Number of co-workers helping out during a peak summer week
27: Number of campfire sing-a-longs and hot dog roasts
And one of my own personal, “By the Numbers”:
2,041,030: Number of steps I took from opening day through our Veteran’s day celebration!
The winter at Capon is a time to get a lot of things on our “to do” list completed… things that are difficult to accomplish when we are busy welcoming guests during the season. We will be working hard to ensure your next visit with us will be one full of simple pleasures and making wonderful memories that we hope will last a lifetime. Although I’m very excited about the projects we are working on right now, I’m also very eager to get to opening day on April 30th. The magic of Capon is in its people and without all of you and our full staff of co-workers here, it’s just not the same! I know the next few months will pass very quickly and before you know it the water will again start flowing through the buildings, the dining room will be filled with the smell of home cooked food, the fireplaces will be adorning crackling fires, and that means you, our guests, will be back with us for another season. While I have enjoyed some time to reflect on the 2019 season and spend some much needed time with my family, I am looking forward to seeing you all again very soon and I can’t wait to see what memories the 2020 season has in store.
We hope country roads take you back to visit us again in 2020!
