2025 Season starts Thursday, May 1st 2025 Calendar & Rates
After 26 years as the first “adopted” manager into the third generation family team, Phil Guard officially retired this month from full time status as Capon’s accountant. Phil took on many guest-related roles like office duty, night manager and cooking steaks on the hill. Many guests know Phil for his nature skills and as an outdoor enthusiast. His vast knowledge of local hiking, fishing and hunting made his advice a much sought after resource.
While he is retiring from being the Capon Springs’ accountant, Phil will still be popping in from time to time primarily for fishing events like the WV Free Fishing Weekend on June 9th and 10th. He is currently training our newest member of the team J.D. Anderson who is taking on our accounting responsibilities. We wish Phil well as he enters his retirement years and travels to see his children this Summer. The Capon family wants to thank Phil for all his hard work and service over the years. We know this isn’t good bye, but just farewell for now…
And now a personal note from Phil:
The time is here to say so long. I have been very fortunate and blessed to have the privilege to work at Capon Springs and Farms, Inc. There are many quality people on both sides of the front counter, both guests and co-workers, that make Capon the special place it is and will continue to be. There are a lot of dedicated people who work behind the scene to make Capon what it is. Capon is laughter, pleasant aromas, good food. friends, and memories.
May these things never change. Thanks to all and God Bless!!!
Phil
